IVS Wins Open Compute Best Innovation Award: High-Efficiency Power Supply Solution Drives Data Center Innovation
On August 8, OCP and OCTC gathered industry technology pioneers to host the highly anticipated Open Compute China Summit, where the Open Compute Best Innovation Award, Best Practice Award, and Ecosystem Contribution Award were introduced for the first time. At the event, IVS, Alibaba Cloud, Samsung Electronics, and Murata received the Open Compute Best Innovation Award; Inspur Information and Arm Technology won the Open Compute Ecosystem Contribution Award; while Baidu and ByteDance were honored with the Open Compute Best Practice Award. These awards aim to recognize community members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of open computing.

In today's open computing systems landscape, emerging sectors such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and blockchain continue to thrive, underpinned by the development and empowerment of data centers. Driven by diverse computing power and massive polymorphic data, servers, as the fundamental carriers of computing output, have seen the enhancement of VRM efficiency and stability within their motherboard systems become a critical factor in alleviating the conflict between the growing computational power of core processors (xPUs such as CPU, GPU, DPU, etc.) and power consumption per unit.
IVS was invited to participate in this grand event and shared the latest technological achievements in open computing at the Data Center Infrastructure Activity Forum. On-site, IVS introduced its new power supply solution for data center server motherboards, unveiling key technologies for improving VRM power efficiency and the optimal direction for solving power density challenges. This initiative helps address issues like xPU chip power consumption and computing power optimization, propelling new data centers toward greener and more efficient development.

At the award ceremony, the event organizers commented: "As a leading domestic enterprise in low-voltage, high-current power management chips, facing the increasingly tense conflict between enhanced computing power and unit power consumption in data center server systems, IVS has successively launched a complete system-level VRM solution ranging from single-phase 6A to multi-phase over 1000A. This solution covers five product categories: Switching Regulator, Multi-phase Controller, Power Stage, Power Module, and E-Fuse. While providing stable current supply, it offers higher power density, higher conversion efficiency, and lower overall board energy consumption. Its exceptional performance and innovative design have garnered unanimous recognition from the organizing committee."

The IS6203A shared on-site is a dual-channel, 12-phase PWM controller with multiple digital interface protocols, supporting PMBus, AVSBus, and SVID protocols. Each phase can achieve a switching frequency of 200kHz to 3MHz. Utilizing IVS's patented TCOT™ control algorithm, it enables the fast transient dynamic response and refined power distribution and control strategies required by xPUs. It can be paired with self-developed 30A/70A/90A/100A DrMOS. Through process optimization, it exhibits superior conversion efficiency and dynamic load adaptability, achieving a balance between power density and size.

IS610XA: 6A-50A Multi-Protection E-Fuse
This product series can meet the power protection and management needs of high-power electronic devices and systems in the current digital and data-driven era.

The IS610XA DC monitoring current covers 6A to 50A, providing high-precision current monitoring (IMON) functionality. It employs integrated power MOSFETs with low RDS_ON, incorporates advanced on-chip current sampling technology, and supports hot-plug and self-recovery applications. It combines fast response and precise protection, capable of detecting and cutting off output within nanoseconds. Some products feature a digital PMBus interface (IS6105A) or support parallel use (IS6108A), offering greater flexibility and practicality. Furthermore, the IS610XA embeds various functions to protect the system from inrush current, overcurrent, overvoltage, reverse current, reverse polarity, and short-circuit faults, effectively enhancing system stability and lifespan.
IVS looks forward to collaborating with industry peers, experts, scholars, and partners to explore and integrate more forces, embracing the challenges and opportunities of the era, jointly contributing to the foundational infrastructure for data center computing power output, and building a smarter, more efficient future.
