0.6 mΩ, a parallel-able 50A hot-swappable protection device integrated with MOSFET

IS6108A

Description

The IS6108A is a programmable hot-swappable fuse specifically designed for high-current applications. It can operate independently or be controlled through a hot-swappable controller. A single device can handle a maximum continuous current of 60A and can be operated in parallel to meet the requirements of higher current applications. When the circuit board is inserted into the live backplane power supply, the IS6108A can suppress the load surge current, effectively controlling the backplane voltage drop. During the initial startup phase, the device current is regulated by the rising time rate at the output terminal, which can be programmed via an external capacitor on the SS pin. This device offers several functions that simplify system design, providing integrated output current monitoring and chip temperature monitoring solutions. The IS6108A is designed with a complete set of protection functions, including output current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and power MOSFET detection. In addition to feedback to the controller, the device can also detect the gate-source leakage short circuit state of the power MOSFET, fully protecting the system from abnormal operating conditions.
