VS Releases Fully Integrated 40A Smart POL IS6615A
In data center and communication equipment 12V board-level power supply scenarios, POL buck solutions pursue higher power density, streamlined BOM, and excellent transient response performance. At the same time, supply chain and component compatibility/replacement needs have also become practical considerations for hardware design teams.
The IS6615A is a fully integrated 40A synchronous buck POL converter launched by IVS Microelectronics. The chip integrates power MOSFETs and adopts a Fast-COT nonlinear control architecture, eliminating the external compensation network. It is also hardware-compatible with similar products from major international manufacturers, providing hardware engineers with a domestic Pin-to-Pin alternative.

High Efficiency
Benefiting from optimized power device process and control architecture, the IS6615A achieves high conversion efficiency over a wide load range, effectively reducing conduction and switching losses and easing system thermal design pressure. In actual test conditions with 12V input and 5V output, peak conversion efficiency can reach 97%.

High Regulation Accuracy
The device supports differential remote output voltage sensing. Based on the internal feedback reference, it achieves a total output voltage error of ±1% over the full temperature range, with steady-state load regulation and line regulation accuracy of ±0.5%.

High Iout Readback Accuracy
A built-in high-precision current sensing circuit ensures that the Iout read via PMBus has small monitoring deviation across the full load and full temperature range, meeting the precise requirements of system-level power management and load current monitoring.

Complete Protection Mechanisms
It integrates a full set of fault protection mechanisms including overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), and overtemperature protection (OTP). Fault response supports flexible switching between Latch-Off and Auto-Retry modes. The thresholds and enable states of each protection can be programmed via PMBus. Among them, the overcurrent protection supports 8 levels of threshold settings, and the current limit can be flexibly configured via external resistors to suit the protection requirements of different applications.

Smart PMBus Configuration, Rapid Development Design
The IS6615A fully supports PMBus1.3 and comes with dedicated PC debugging software, integrating parameter configuration, status monitoring, and fault diagnosis to shorten the power debugging cycle.
- On the Configuration interface, set various parameters such as VIN_ON, VIN_OFF, VIN_OV_FAULT, and the protection mode of VIN_OV, etc.

- On the Monitor interface, you can monitor the power supply's VIN, VOUT, IOUT, and TEMPERATURE in real time, visualizing the power link status.

- When engineers encounter problems during debugging, the Status interface can quickly locate the source of the exception and distinguish fault types such as input, output, overcurrent, and overtemperature, making it easy to quickly troubleshoot.
