8-Phase 3-LOOP, Next-Generation High-End Compute V-Core Power Supply Solution
Desktop, mobile, and industrial-edge multi-core processors are rapidly evolving toward higher compute density and dynamic low power consumption, with larger load transient fluctuations and more complex operating conditions. This places higher demands on the transient response, full-load efficiency, and power supply accuracy of onboard V-Core power supplies. At the same time, as domestic compute equipment is deployed at scale, there is an urgent need for domestic power supply solutions with high adaptability, mass-production readiness, and stable supply.
IVS introduces the IS6212B+IS6829B V-Core power supply solution, which meets the core power supply design requirements of new-generation high-performance processor platforms. It provides hardware development teams with a highly reliable and highly feasible domestic replacement option, and has now entered the actual testing and validation stage with several leading industry customers.

The solution adopts a mature architecture of multiphase controller + smart power stage. The main controller chip IS6212B is designed to support 12V/19V two-stage onboard power supply and is a 3-output, 8-phase PWM controller compatible with PMBus/SVI3. It features dynamic phase control and automatic power state switching to achieve excellent efficiency across the entire load range; the full-loop optimized design further improves load transient performance, effectively reducing downstream output capacitance and lowering system cost.
The companion smart power stage IS6829B integrates power MOSFETs and a gate driver, covers a wide input voltage range of 3V-12V, and delivers 60A continuous output current per phase. Powered by a proprietary optimized MOSFET design, it combines high current capability, excellent thermal performance, and high conversion efficiency. It also integrates high-precision current sensing and temperature monitoring feedback, providing reliable data support for fine-grained system control and fault diagnosis.

High-Precision Electrical Control
Processors have high requirements for supply voltage and current accuracy; slight fluctuations can cause frequency throttling, stuttering, or even crashes. This solution delivers excellent electrical accuracy, with output voltage accuracy of ±0.5% and current readback accuracy of ±1.2%. The chip also integrates the PMBus 1.3 interface protocol, allowing users to read back voltage, current, temperature, and other data in real time. Together with the current-sharing and dynamic response capabilities of the multiphase architecture, debugging and system management are more efficient and reliable. It supports multi-protocol online voltage regulation to flexibly match the voltage/current requirements of different platforms. With wide-range voltage sensing, IS6212B supports input voltage sensing up to 32V, enabling broader application scenarios.

Independent APS Power State Switching
The solution features independent APS Power State Change power state switching, which automatically adjusts the number of active phases and operating mode based on real-time load changes such as no-load, light-load, and full-load. Under heavy load, it delivers full output to ensure stable compute performance; under light load, it intelligently drops phases to reduce static losses, addressing the efficiency weakness of traditional multiphase power supplies—“strong at full load, weak at light load”—and balancing high performance with low power consumption.

Flexible Loop Configuration
Supports flexible configuration of 1-3 independent output LOOPs. Users can modify the number of phases per loop according to power requirements. A single LOOP supports up to 8 phases in parallel. One IS6212B can provide 3 independent LOOP power outputs, offering high integration and flexible configuration, greatly simplifying overall system power supply design and effectively shortening development cycles and reducing selection and material costs.

Excellent Current Sharing and Dynamic Performance
The 3 LOOP outputs operate independently without interfering with each other, and the power-up logic across multiple loops is stable. Each phase delivers excellent current sharing, with balanced current distribution when phases are paralleled, effectively avoiding risks such as single-phase overload and local overheating.

When facing sudden load changes and operating condition switching, it delivers excellent dynamic response, with small output voltage and current fluctuations and fast recovery, making it suitable for power supply scenarios of smart devices with frequent start-stop and dynamic loads.

Comprehensive Protection, Black-Box Traceability
The solution integrates a full set of mature power protection mechanisms, including overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection, and overcurrent protection. Under abnormal conditions, it can quickly shut off the path to protect downstream core components and avoid risks such as short circuits and burnout.

The solution also features a built-in black-box fault logging function that automatically saves the last fault status and key parameters of each LOOP. Manual clearing is supported, facilitating R&D debugging and rapid after-sales troubleshooting while reducing overall system O&M costs.
